Qtp Headers?
Re: Qtp Headers?
i have the qtps without the merge collectors, i love them. I know they are the longest longtube on the market, and they are stainless. I bought them becuase i didn't want my headers to rust in this chicago weather. Also, high quality welds and thick flanges are a great plus. Hope this helps.
Re: Qtp Headers?
no, i never tested it, but they supposedly have the most gains of all the headers, if you do a search, most people will tell you a long tube header is a long tube header no matter what brand. If you are going to spend the money it is to get the stainless vs ceramic coating, not really as much for gains
Re: Qtp Headers?
I also have them, and have ZERO complaints. They look great, sound great, and perform phenomonally. Them, along with the rest of my combo, got my TA to 11.75 with only bolt-ons. Not to mention how EASY they were to install (the cheaper headers require you to take off all kinds of crap before you can ease them into place) So yeah, I recommend them to anyone. You get what you pay for
Re: Qtp Headers?
I had comparatively great dyno results on a pretty stock car with the QTP's and merge collectors. The install shop wasn't overly impressed with the fit of QTP's y-pipe, as it required some extra fitting and welding, but that was nearly 2 years ago. Barry at QTP was good to me, and I'd certainly recommend them.
Re: Qtp Headers?
The theory behind having the "longest" tubes will not net more power than a somewhat shorter tube, but you'll experience a lower [RPM] occuring VE peak with will raise the torque curve at lower engine speed. Longer tube = more torque.
I'll step out on a limb and say that I bet there's hardly any difference between LS1 longtubes on a chassis dyno. I doubt it. Unless your wallet stays full of "car money", I'll pick the most economical headers that still combine good quality- for me, that's the coated Pacesetters.
