That's good!
What are you running in the 1/4??
(ET & MPH??).............unfortunately, I got a factory "freak" that doesn't run 13's
--- I only ran a best of 14.008 @ 102.99 mph with a 2.1 60' time
. With the 3.73's (and a little more time spent playing with tire pressure maybe
) I'm hoping to at least cut my time down to a 13.5?!
Also, as long as I can make the car hook, I'd like to get my 2.1 60' down to a 1.9 if I could.BTW: I'm appreciating all the feedback................keep it coming!
14s .....??????
My WORST times (when the car was stock, with the A4) were in the mid-upper 13s.
My best time stock, with a 2.something 60', was 13.299 at 106 something.
Shoot, you're running LT1 times !!
Somthin' ain't right........

I realize that a 14.anything sucks out of an LS1, but here are my "attempts" at an explanation:
- 1st night at track: very slippery off starting line. Why?? 'Cause I witnessed several dumba$$ Honda drivers "driving" through the water box
. Oh yeah, and it drizzled lightly half way through the night too
. I still pulled off my 2.1 60' time, that was at Cayuga, which is at the same track where my '81 Z28 only ran a 14.2 when I knew it should have run a ~13.5 (long story, but for some reason, at that track, it wouldn't rev over 4500 RPM --- should have revved to 6000 RPM). - 2nd night at track: different track. Good launch (2.101 60' time). However, it was very humid........I mean, it was 30-32 * celsius (86 - 89 * Fahrenheit) and the air "felt" heavy and wet (even though the sky was blue?!). Also, my 2nd night at the track was after changing to the Direct-Flo lid and installing the K&N, yet I still only ran 0.12 seconds quicker, and about 2 mph faster.
my frst day at track with my stock 98 i made 15 runs
never with anything under 2.2 60ft time cuz i had stock bald *** tires
my runs where from 14.4-13.3
14.1 being my frst run ever in my life at track and only drving the car for a couple weeks
and my frst stik car although i have driven other stik cars b4

Hmmm......
My 13.299 was under the following conditions...
Stock w/3.23s & A4
Stock tires
Cold temps (was last day for the season)
Lots of spin ... had to just drive it out.
Keep hood up through staging & engine off unless moving... right up until I'm next in the box (I always do this...).
I ran a best of 13.4 at SLP day in NJ last spring. Warm & very humid (off & on rain)... at that time I had a lid & filter.

So does your car still feel stock like, meaning not loose...How much did you cut off your time with that gear+stall combo??
Or I was thinking of getting a 3000 stall/2.00 str tc instead and keeping my 3.23s???What do you think? Will it feel really loose???

So the ansewr to the loosness thing is, no you wont think its loose. An personally speaking i could have used more stall for sure, after the fact!

2.73's are the standard gear for automatics, and 3.23's are optional. 3.42's are standard for M6 cars (no option).
I just want to add a little food for thought.
If you are going to get a hand held programmer. Check out the Diablo Sport Predator. It will do tons more than a Hypertech (live scanning, code reading and reset, timing and air fuel tuning +++++++++) for just a little bit more money. I sold my HPP3 and got a Predator and I gained .1 and 1 mph at the track with it's tune. And that's making runs with the HPP3, then pitting and unloading it, loading up the Predator, and going out to make more runs. Came in running 12.2xs and left with a new best of 12.15.
