Which program should I buy for personal tuning?
Which program should I buy for personal tuning?
I'm starting to get into my LS1 now and I need a program to work on my pcm with. I'm really a novice when it comes to computers and pcms, but I do know my way around an engine. Should I buy predator, or what about LS1 edit? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

It is a computer program so you would need a laptop. Any of the sponsors will carry it.

1) Laptop to connect to your car's OBDII port
2) Bench harness if you prefer to take your PCM out and program it from your desktop PC instead.
So far as I'm aware only Carputing sells LS1-Edit, and via Paypal. Their page is here .
If they have resellers I'd like to know whom, as I'd rather pay with credit card.
a very reputable shop in my area charges $349 for LS1-Edit use, but it's unlimited....but they do charge for dyno time.
i was thinking of buying LS1-Edit and do it myself, but then what if i F' something up and burn a hole in my pistons?
are there set parameters on the net that you can just download. still, it's kind of scary when you're just messing around with it and not see the AF ratio on-the-fly, etc.
i'm kind of leaning towards....getting all my mods done and then have it dyno tuned by a shop that's going to use LS1-Edit and not mess with stuff.
i guess for changing shift points and such, it's fine...but when messing with the A/F ratio, that's where the real power gains could be had and/or the real nasty explosions.
