problems with starting and idle...
First of all, car is a 98 SS with 60k miles. Never had any problems until the other morning. I'll try to explain it the best I can.
When I left to go to work Sunday morning, the car wouldnt start. The battery wasnt dead, but it just wouldnt turn over. Didnt have time to mess with it, so I had my gf take me to work. Now the car will start, but it turns over very slowly and the idle is all screwed up. It seems like the throttle is sticking or something. When I push the clutch in, the car will rev to about 3k RPM's and stay there. Also when driving the RPM's wont drop even when I am not using the gas. It seems to only be when the car is cold...It happened twice this morning, but yesterday afternoon the car started twice with no problems and none of these symptoms.
Also yesterday the SES light came on and I had it scanned. I was told I need a new IAC, but the light didnt come back on today. Would the IAC cause all of these problems, or is there something else wrong too? The problems started with the cold weather...
Thanks guys
