Pro 5.0 NOISE

I just installed my Pro 5.0 and Lou's short stick yesterday. I love it. But I've noticed A LOT of noise especially in first gear. Anybody had this problem??? Anybody got any suggestions?

Like what kind of noise? Grinding noise or road noise? Is it only when accelerating or just cruising? Low rpm or high?

You'll get transmission noise with the Pro 5.0 because the stock rubber boot is eliminated. I like to hear what my transmission is doing

Two things you can do.
1st. Get a piece of rubber to stick between where the stick mounts.
sec. Get some gasket material and make a template the size of where the shifter mounts and glue that between the shifter base and trans. I would do both if it really bothers you.

How often and how long are you in 1st gear? Mines a little noisy too but mostly in 3rd gear it's the price that you pay for performance.

Just depends on how I'm driving it. Sometimes not long, other times till i hit 5500 rpms.

the noise is normal. when i installed mine i installed a fairly thick rubber gasket between the base of the shifter and the tranny. so i don't know how much this helps since i put it there when i installed the shifter. i do hear a little grinding/rattleing noise if i take off really slow in first or if i am at a really low rpm. i also hear noise at higher rpm's too. its a great shifter though.
