best lid?

Does it really make a difference? I heard someone saying they were MUCH happier with a TSP over their old direct-flo lid. Which one will give the best throttle response?

throttle response will be the same pretty much.

but dyno results that i have seen point to the tsp lid being the most effective

the question is whether or not 2 or 3 hp is worth $30 more for the tsp over an slp or similar cheaper unit

i have mine and i love it...and it's a perfect fit

Exclamation

A lid is alid is a lid. Performance differences are very debatable.

TS&P has shown a few HP gain over the others. They are more expensive than some, and cheaper than others. In the end, they are a very nice piece and they fit well.

the TSP speed lid has not been dynoed on a stock car with a controlled test environment.

I wont belive its better until I see it dynoed on a stock car, then the lid then any other lid.. repeats on all.. then return to stock to show the dyno numbers return to the repeatable stock number.

thats My OPINION! hehe

As was said...its basically a lid is a lid is a lid. Some dyno more than others, however keep in mind not all LS1s/LT1s are the same. One will dyno "x" increase while another exactly the same will dyno higher or lower. In the long run, lids will net relatively the same numbers. Ours, whispers, SLP, etc etc will dyno relatively close to one another. Numbers can depend on the day and the car its tested.

a lid is a lisl is a lid is a lid is a lid

Another vote for "they all perform the same". O.K. maybe one does better than another but the differences are so small and as stated, the only way to tell is to do a scientific test. The best way would probably be to do multiple dyno runs with stock, multiple with each lid and then mutltiple again with stock. This is way more work than anyone wants to (or should want to ) do just to see that one lid makes 2 hp more than another. I say go for looks and price. My choice in bother areas - the SLP "blemished" lid for $75. The blemish is negligble. IMHO there is no reason to spend more.
