WTF is a bozo button anyway?
Take it to the track sometime and get you a$$ handed to you by every LS1 there. When you use low octane the computer senses the knock (knock that you can't even hear) and switches to the low octane timing table. Max wide open throttle timing in the low octane table is 19° which will cost you about 30 hp. Now if you went out and bought a sports car with the intention of immediately reducing the HP then you are right on track.

Very traction limited 13.6x (X because the times were all over due to lack of traction lowest was 13.62 trapping at 103 mph) in a bone stock car with under 30K miles isn't bad. It was good enough to pull an 02 SS A4 Vert at the top end by a car length after spinning through 1st and part of 2nd. Cars with cat back, lids, etc get me by about 1/2 a car length from a roll.

man, thought I would check in with my thread. Should have labeled the thread "Octane (or octain like some of us think??) and Octane Boosters: argue here. Its fun watching you guys go back and forth. I just ask myself, why would the sell 93 if it did the same thing as 87? The dumb dealership put in 91. When I filled up with some 94 (only one pump in town that pumps this juice for a reasonable price), I definately felt a difference.

To all who helped me with the preventice maintenance question, thank you. If there is any new info on octane and octane boosters, keep the debate rolling.

Yep and my absolutely bone stock automatic car ran 13.3s at 106mph. You really need to load it up wiht some 92+ and hit the track again. You won't believe the difference.

Sorry Coog
