Pressure washing an LS1

The first time i washed my LT1 I was not aware of how sensetive the opti-spark was to water and could not get the car started for a long time.

Is there anything i need to be concerned about when washing my LS1, I hate to mess it up? Thanks.

You may want to cover the MAF plug, fuse box, PCM, and air filter. Some people cover the coil packs. Some people don't cover anything, and have never had any issues.

Don't want to get any water under the intake either...personally I wouldn't pressure wash mine.

Simple Green or Orange oil and some elbow grease goes a long way.

What's worked well for me... i go to the wash stations that have that spot-free rinse. It's usually a low pressure rinse. Lightly spray the motor with the degreaser/wheel cleaner selection, then change to the spot-free rinse to lightly hose the stuff off. Shiny!

I would no pressure wash ANY engine. The high pressure water could damage something if aimed in the wrong place.

Exactly.. That is the only real concern. The watter will puddle where the knock sensor sit and it could corrode them (IIRC, on the corrosion)

I have pressure washed my engine countless times, but at a low pressure and NOT close at all! I'd hold it about 2+ ft away from the engine. Just a little more directed water pressure/soap than a typical garden hose.
