power steering pressure line

How hard is it to change out a power steering pressure line? I have a 2001 Z28 all stock M6. Can any one help? The shop would charge me $251.

$250 for what? Parts AND labor? If so that's a deal. Book time is 3.5 hours.

If you want to do it yourself, you need to first remove the pressure line fitting from the rack. Then remove the pump with the pressure line still attached. Replace the line and then reinstall the pump and line as an assembly. You will need a pulley puller/installer and a few basic handtools, in addition to a line wrench.

Trying to remove the line with the pump in the car is VERY frustrating.

Sounds like shop time for my Z.

Thank you. It would be $250 for the labor and $28 for the line which i have now. I'm going to find the money and have them put it in.

Frustrating isn't even the word for it If i recall correctly my local shops wanted to charge me around $400 to do mine and that was probably 3 years ago.
