Possible Fuel Gauge Problem
I filled my tank on Sunday and the needle was past full. I've since driven about 65 miles in the city and it moved a little past F yesterday, but it's back in its original spot after the fillup (to the right of F).
I took a trip last weekend, but it was with my windows up and AC on. I got about 115 miles into the trip and the needle was barely to the left of F, which seemed a little too good. Could having the windows up make that much of a difference in fuel mileage, even with the AC on?
When I returned, I left with the needle in between F and 3/4 tank. Midway through my trip, it seemed that my needle started dropping like a fly. On that tank which was about 70% highway and 30% city, I got 22.xxx MPG, which seems about right.
My question is have any of you experienced any fluctuations with your fuel gauge like I have?

Re: Possible Fuel Gauge Problem
The gauge has always been fine until this happened. It's still reading full with about 90 miles on the tank now.
I always reset my trip odometer to calculate mileage, so I know when it's due for a fill-up based on that, but for those who don't do that and can't figure out why the car is "still full of gas", they're gonna run out of fuel.
I believe the gas gauge is underrated so you won't run out of gas. When it's close to E, most people believe the car's running on fumes, but there's really like 2 gallons left.
Either way, here's something else to fix.
