Porting the Mass-Air-Flow Housing...descreening

I just took apart the maf only to find out there is no way to do this without getting rid of the screen. I wanted to keep my screen. Should I continue or you guys advise against it.

Go and order some ported MAF ends and try them first. This way you can see if theres any improvement or benefits on your car. If no gains you still have the stock ends with the screen intact to put back on. You can order them from fastoys for 60$$

This and exhust are prob the 2 most argued topics in general discussions. Descreen or not to descreen. If its not affecting your cars performance leave it out. Theres no screen in a Vettes MAF. Now porting is a different subject some cars are affected in a negative manner lose of power poor gas milage run lean. A4s loose line pressure etc. My car runs fine has been ported since the 2nd day I got it brand new Now all this said does it add anything?? I dunno My advice is to leave the MAF alone any improvements arent noticed and the negatives outway the positives in the long run just my .02cents and experience with my 96 which I left totaly stock and my 98 that I eventualy blew up modding to death.
