Ported TB results

O.k. I'm not one to boast about anything. In fact I almost never mention numbers with our TB's other than the cfm increase. Which is about 200cfm.

Went to the track and took a TB with me. A guy in a 2002 SS with a lid, bellows and a cutout droped it on his car. Previous best was a 12.87 @ 110, tonight he ran 2 12.45's @ 112. I was pretty shocked by that because the traction seemed to go down as the night went on.

One more little story. I had a customer in CA, who is also a sponsor on antoher board, drop a TB on. On his G-Tech (which I know is not the most accurate thing) droped .5 and gained 5mph. That's REALLY high in my eyes, so I'm not sure that's going to happen on the strip, but it's good to hear.

These are just some results that I have gotten lately. Sometimes the car doesn't like the TB and there is little gain, some times it seems to help a ton.

Anways just wanted to share what a saw.

I'm sure the TB alone won't count for all those gains (and I'm certain Bret knows that), but it definitely seems to be a fine product and does seem to produce noticeable gains, whereas previously 'ported' TB rarely showed much of a "measurable" gain (though were still good).

Guys, I'm completely realisitc about this too, the .5 seemed to be way to much for me.

The 2mph on the other hand wasn't that far out of wack. It was bolted on right there at the track and nothing else done to the car, so it was all the TB being that the conditiond were about the same (+/- 3-4 degs)

Either way just posting some stuff up since we sponsor the site now. The only reason we have a web site is to show off some of the TB's. Which I don't even have pics of the new TB's up there yet. Doh.

If you're so adamant about your TB, send me one for testing purposes. I have a friend who owns a dyno, and I'll do back to back runs for ya

Yes, I'm serious. This can make or break on how well it's purported to increase hp

Hopefully SStrokerAce will take you up on that offer. But to be fair, I would like to see the TB mounted on 2 or 3 different cars before reporting on the results.

Well, I have a blown LS1. There's that. Then add a bone stock N/A car, and a mildly modded bolt-on car and we can compare results.

Sounds pretty straightforward

Don't you think the man already has access to a dyno? Geez. There are more than 3 dynos in the country.

And he probably has plenty of access to various types of modified cars, as well. Such is the nature of a performance outfit..it attracts modified cars.

I'll bet the reason he isn't providing dyno #s is because tests have been inconclusive or aren't as impressive as the dragstrip improvement.

Exactly. So what's the point of your first two paragraphs?

Do you not get the point?

Oh, now I understand. You absolutely get the point of my first two paragraphs. This is a little test; you're supposed to be smarter than I, so I must find a super-witty comeback to prove that I'm no dumbass. It's hard to trump a selected-quote post, but I'll try my 8 a.m. best.

The onus is on you. What's the point of your first two posts? That question is precisely the point of my first two paragraphs. Your idea is, on its face, silly, redundant, baseless, self-interested, and unprofitable for the vendor, and you haven't demonstrated otherwise. I thought you were joking when I first began to read your post. Why not own up to the joke?

Wow man. Drink some coffee, kick back, watch some New TNN for Men.

Yes, I was joking, hence my sarcastic comments in my previous posts followed by the smilies. Unfortunately, I guess I can't express my sarcasm and making funny manners with text.

It was all in good jest, sorry if I offended you this early in the morning
