Which Ported TB???

I have searched for this answer, but to no avail. Please dont flame me for opening up a topic that has probably been beat to death. I would like to buy one of the ported and polished TB's from either bauer or shaner. I do not want to know all of the information about doing it myself and how much money I will save. I really dont have the time to do it myself, or the know-how. I would rather spend the money and have it done right. If any of you have any information about pros and cons (if there are any), or any of your personal experiences with them, or if there are any other products out there that are comparable to these two, then please enlighten me. Also could somebody please PM me the link to Brett Bauer's site? TIA

Even better, I can save you some $$$. All you have to do is follow what I say. Ok, so here goes...... DONT BUY A PORTED TB!!! How's that work into your budget? Seriously though, you dont need a ported tb. The stock one is fine, and is NOT a restriction. It would be a serious waste of money. that goes for the MAF too. Leave that alone. Unless your car is makking 500+ hp then those two items should be left alone. And from the mods in your sig, your not there yet. They are not a restriction and there is no need to change them out.

I disagree, Aklaim where did you get this info? I gained 2/10th's and 1.5mph with the Bauer ported TB. It definitely feels as if the power increased across the board as my low end picked up some grunt as well. I have an almost stock motor and this is definitely one of my best bang for the buck mods to date. I would advise you to check out Bret Bauer's ported TB's. He's a sponsor on LS1tech.com if you need to find him.

I agree aswell....I'd rather do the TB before the heads and cam than after...glad I did..as for Bauer, a great piece but you'll have to send in your TB to get ported but they do a great job powder coating....S2 will send one out as soon as they get yours...a quicker turn around time...as for quality...they are equal but Bauer's are sexy when done..
