(1)Better alternator (Hell they need it!)
(2)No badging

That's all I know about the B4C

I've seen Z28 badging on a patrol car.

the GM B4C Police Package doesn't come with badging though, from what I understand about it.

Maybe they wanted to display the "Z28" badge proudly.

GM did refer to the B4C package as an interceptor in 2002 on there fleet website, However after a certain year, they were not Suposed to be availableto the public. Also if you look at the list of options for the interceptor this is a disclaimer that basically states that the cars leave the factory with these options and they do not reflect and options or perfromance enhancements that are put on latter by any other party. So you may never know what that new Police interceptor has under the Hood. Just like the RPO 9C3 Impala under cover police cars, Theres one near where i live that is super charged.

I guess he wanted to display it. I was behind him for 2 red lights and I clearly remember seeing it. Come to think of it, that was the only one that I saw it on. It was an LT1 too.

I'd rather be in front of the Z28 and behind the B4C. That's the only real difference that I know of.

Bigger alternator
No Badging (badges? We don't need no stinkin' badges!)
Body color roof (not a black roof unless it's a black car)

I think they may also get a grounding strap somewhere, but I'm not sure.

This hard top interceptor is only true of recent years. I think starting in 98', but not positive. from 93-96' you could order the interceptor from a dealer, with no lights. In 3rd gen cars a lot of police departments got T-Top cars, back in the IROCS glory days.

come visit me when i'm at work and i'll show you sometime.

it's a 2002 35th anniv. navy blue metallic B4C with grey cloth interior.
it has A4 with 3.23 rear end.
hardtop.
body color roof. (some B4Cs did come with a black roof though)
gas charged shocks.
105 amp alternator.
Z rated RSAs.
ASR.
foglights.

since delivery, we've added a larger battery, SFCs, a 4 point roll cage, ceramic brake pads, deleted the DRLs, a passenger side airbag disable switch, deleted automatic headlamps, and will be adding a set of Kumho 712s next week. the rear and passenger side seats have been removed and a deck was built around the entire area for ease of accessing equipment. we also added the general equipment - strobes in the headlights and tail lights, lightbar, radio, camera, radar, siren, etc..

it's not so much as better stuff, just a specific generic option package to make it easier for governments to only decide on a few options. if we had to go through and pick out each option we wanted, it wouldn't be an easy process.

Hopefully not after flashing lights in the rearview mirror...

I think I've seen you once when I was driving through NRH. That sure is one sweet office!

Around here, The NC State Highway patrol calls them 'pursuit vehicles'. I've seen both marked (with Z28 badges) and unmarked (no badges or light bar).

The ones I've personally seen are LS1, Hardtop, Auto tranns cars.
