Please help with P0355 code 2002Z M6
Please help with P0355 code 2002Z M6
What I have found is "EST line is Stuck low or high". The car misses. The car has 8000 miles and is garage kept. It was being moved from the barn to the garage and got stuck. It was not stuck bad and we got it out. All seemed ok except for the frustration of getting mud on a car that had hardly ever seen rain. A day later I started it and got the miss and the code. Some lists say it is Coil 5. Are these still 1357left/2468right side?
Thanks for any ideas on what to do.

P0335 is Crankshft Position (CKP) Sensor A Circuit, www.gearchatter.com/viewtopic9362.php
Since you mentioned coil #5 makes me think you might mean code P0305? 1357 drivers side, 2468 passenger side front to back is correct.
In either case I'd clear the code and see if it returns.

Sorry, my bad...looked up P0335 at obdii.com...
Your list is correct. www.gearchatter.com/viewtopic9357.php I'd still try clearing the code and if it comes back then check the #5 plug/wire.

Thanks for the link
It looks fine and nothing loose. I did clear the code twice and it rears it's ugly head again. FYI: The car's exhaust smells strange or at least not normal. The CES light blinks then stays on solid and then back to blinking. I just sold the 1996 and really need this car to drive right now.
It seems to clear up after running a few minutes
The exhaust smells bad and it misses for a few minutes and then seems totally ok. The gas in the car has been there for a while but has stabil in it. I wonder if coils go bad for seemingly no reason after 8500 miles? I drove it 30 miles yesterday and it seemed fine. I started it later and it still missed for a few minutes. The weird smell would make me believe it is not firing on that cylinder though while getting fuel. I think I will run as much gas as possible out and then add new gas and see what it does. If it turns out that the good gas fixes it I will repost since the code says electrical.
That DTC can only be set by a failed PCM, coil, or coil wiring. A failed spark plug and/or plug wire, bad gas, etc will NOT set that DTC - they would set a misfire code, like P0305. Check to see if the cylinder #5 coil is plugged in, and inspect the wiring leading to the coil.
You say the car was in the barn? Rodents are notorious for climbing up into engine bays and chewing on wires. Perform a visual inspection of the wiring, and check for rodent nests/food.

Coil 5 looks fine and wiring is ok.
Thanks for the info. I kind of guessed that but I have not had a lot of experience with codes. I know the barn thing sounds bad but it is totally sealed. Only a bug can get in and I have poison and traps set. I have never seen any trace of a rodent. Believe me I learned from closing up the vette and covering it about the mice. I leave both hoods open and the lights stay on 24/7. My Blazer sits outside the barn for weeks at a time without starting and there is no sign of rodents in it either. I did get an opossum picture on the security camera standing on its hind legs though.
I started it last night and it reacted the same. After a short warm up it clears up. If you clear the code after the clear up it stays out. When you restart it the code returns.
This weekend I may switch the coil with another cylinder.
