Question PCV Mod

Has anyone tried this mod on install U? Sounds like something really worth doing. I drop about a quart every 3k miles and it seems that this fixes that problem. Just wondering if anyone has done it, never seems to be talked about?

There are several PCV mods out there, one of them is using the Justin Sutton oil catch tank. It's an easy install and the price is right.

Basically what you do is disconnect the hose at the PCV and connect it to the catch tank, then connect another hose at the catch tank and run it to the PCV. For the most part oil will drop to the bottom of the catch tank and you will draw cleaner air into the PCV, Justin has a drian at the bottom of the tank so you can drian any oil that's in there. Here's link showing his tank http://www.ls1tech.com/ubb/ultimateb...=006009#000000 , e-mail Justin and tell him what year you have and ask him what there selling for now.

I had Justin make me one for my non f-body car and I like it, mines a lot like what he makes for the f-bodies but with a few changes. You can see what mines looks like here http://www.ls1tech.com/ubb/ultimateb...c;f=3;t=003793 .

I'm not sure if I explained the catch tank well enough but that's the best I can do.

I found that converting to the Z06 valley pan and PCV works very well also, of course that maybe what the link is to as i did not click the link to see the info.

I'm not sure if you're referring to my reply or Demon SS reply but here's a little more, the engine oil vapor blow-by that gets sucked into the PCV then ends up going thru the TB and intake. With the oil catch tank the oil vapor blow-by goes into the tank first, being oil is heaver then air most of the oil will drop to the bottom of the tank before getting into the TB or intake. A catch tank will not keep your car from using oil but will help keep the oil out of the TB and intake.

Try e-mailing Justin at onekwik02ss@yahoo.com , if he's still making them he probably can e-mail you a picture.

Thx for the quick replies guys. It is because I have seen an excess of oil in there actually. I have a 98 and oil have accumulated right beside the egr tube that goes right beside the throttle body. I don't really find this normal and I would like to keep that area clean. The quick fix that people talk about can as well be fixed with a nice catch can. I was just wondering if anyone of you guys had one of those installed and where. I also emailed Justin for more information.
