Are patriot heads that bad? thanks

Yep. There are to many other heads out there right now for the same price that are much better. There is a GP on another vendors heads over on LS1tech right now. Look in the Group purchase section. Ther about the best heads you can get for $1500.

Some ls1 guys had problems w/ them when they first came out...same w/ the stang guys...they have since been revised and are now a quality piece...

They may not break on you, but they will deffinatlly not perform up to par with other heads in the same price range. There was a good thread on LS-1 tech were the Patriots were compared with FFHP stage 1 heads, and the performance was BAD. This was even a set of heads that Patriot sent to be tested against the FFHP's in a test that they called for. If quality means they won't break, then yea, there quality, but as for performance, they won't flow and or make the hp that is claimed.
