Pacesetter, AIR & EGR not threaded...

The install went smooth untill it was time to bolt everything back up. When i went to install the AIR and EGR on the passanger side, the bolts would not thread (also on driver side). I looked at the air and egr holes on the header and they were not threaded so the bolts would slide in and out easily. I need to have the AIR and EGR hooked up so what should i do? There is no way i am taking off the headers to thread the holes! I was thinking of maybe getting some nuts to put on the extra threads that stick out once the bolt is pushed all the way through. Will this work? Anyone else have this problem? Everything else worked perfectly.

Thanks for the help

mine o2 sensor hookups were threaded, but I deleted EGR. If you got the pacesetter y-pipe, take it to an exhaust shop and have them make sure its not sitting to close to the floor board. Mine was, and to keep the exhaust from melting the fuel lines, I have to get a new y-pipe made. =0(

I would just get some self tapping 5/16" bolts and run them in with an impact. This assuming the heads of the bolts will not be too big. Otherwise get a thread tap.

As for the y-ppe, as long as you have 1/2" between floor and tq arm from the y-pipe, just bend the fuel lines up a little higher. They are metal so their not going to melt. Unless your y-pipe is banging on stuff then you need in adjusted a bit. Sounds like the muffler shop is trying to make a few more $$.
