P1416 98 Ls1 Z28

Can't seem to find a list for LS1 cars IF there are new codes seperate from the earlier OBD II cars.

What I have found points to this being:

AIR System Bank 2

The generic OBD II codes are no good because the '1' digit notes that this is MFG specific. Has anyone seen a definitive list for these cars, and/or able to throw out what this one is for?

I got this code after some hard drivin' so I wonder if something just came loose somehow. After deleting the code it has not come back, but intermittently there is a strange humming sound from the front that I had assumed was an air pump possibly.

TIA

For better or worse, I live in California so thats not an option.

Thankfully the code hasn't returned as of yet.

I noticed that after I posted...but was too lazy to edit it.
Hopefully it doesn't return.

If it comes back replace the passenger side air check valve. Easy to do and not expensive.

If it comes back, chech the passenger check valve like 2001NBMZ28 said. I had the same code, except for Bank 1, and the dealership replaced the air pump. And wouldn't you know it, 20 minutes after I left the dealership, The check engine light came back on. Moral of the story, I paid 400 bucks for a 25 dollar check valve. Oh they assured me that the air pump wouldn't turn on when they had it hooked up to their scan tool.

Just had this problem myself. After calling the dealer and them saying it was the o2 sensor and estimationg around $380.00 to fix, I decided to try the airpump check valve on the passenger side. Purchased the part for $15.99 and mechanically retarded I attempted the repair myself. Within 30 mins I had the part replaced and service engine light disappeared. Very easy repair and for the price just replace it.

I had this over a year ago on my 98 Z28, and am a bigger tech retard HOWEVER, seeing the above costs of $380-400 for a $15 part which even I found easy to change out builds my confidence.

Bottom line get that Passenger side AIR valve and replace the whole part, tube and valve and mine stayed clear for a year now.
