Opinions on the set up...

Well, I finally got the torquer installed and lets just say the motor ad some... issues so now its back in the shop im planin on havin the motor rebuilt into a tough street beast i was thinkin the Dart heads with the 2.02 valves, some Mahley pistons to knock the CR up to around 11:1 and some manley rods assuming my cranks ok... Another question I have a 00 Z28 and the thing has six bolt mains did they all come like that??? Neways im lookin to spend around $2500 or so this go around what you guys think?

what kind of issues warrents a rebuild so soon?

and all lsx blocks that i know of are 6 bolts...hence the strength

and you dont need new pistons to reach 11:1....just some smaller combustion chambers. i think milling the heads .020" does the trick...or pretty close

Well, the "issues" are that the cam keeps shovin the same rocker off, and some how one of the heads got messed up. Plus one of the connecting rods was also messed up some how... I dont know why... could be the very hard lived 180,000 on the engine.

The heads are for some more power and so are the pistons... I like power.

Oh, didnt know that thats pretty cool.

Also would the Ls6 intake really be worth the 500 bucks for a new one, and is tunning all its cracked up to be?

the ls6 intake is a dyno proven 7-10hp on stock/bolt on cars....15hp+ on cammed cars...

YES its worth it.

and you can get used ones for less than $300...no sense buying those new SLP versions unless you plan to keep emissions...and if you are planning on running a big cam...i doubt you are.

and YES...tuning makes all the difference in the world, particularly with a big cam.
i'm still fighting a low rpm surge due to a mediocre part throttle tune. sucks to drive through a 30mph speed zone...school zones are even worse...i have to keep it at about 2K rpm to keep from bucking and surging. and 2k rpm with true duals is not a good thing to do...cops tend to sit around school zones!!!

planning a tune soon...trying to swap on some budget ported heads before i do...kill 2 birds with one stone
