Post Opinions on Mufflex 4" exhaust?

Does anyone have experience with this exhaust? I'm looking for something different than Borla, Corsa, GMMG etc. thanks

Unless you're going with at least a cam, as well as the headers and a 3" Y-pipe - a 4" Mufflex is overkill and is probably overkill for even that minimum set up.

Won't hurt anything to get it, just aren't going to see any benefit for the hassle involved with the larger I-pipe..

Good Luck

If you don't any major engine work planned the 4" will definately be overkill. I'd say if you're doing turbo, agressive cam/heads then go for it. Just make sure the rest of your exhaust is as free flowing. There's a clip of the 4" Mufflex in my sig.

I ran Mufflex 4" on my 396 stroker LT1. It is by far the best exhaust for the LT1. However, as previously stated, it's not really needed unless you're at least going with a bigger cam, better heads, etc. However, I just put a 3.5" Mufflex on my 98 Trans Am, and it's awesome. I do have all the bolt ons (long tube headers, etc.) and a cam. If you're planning big mods in the future, you won't be disappointed with it.

I just put on the 4" and I love it. Its the same amount of money so I did it. Now all I have to do is find a pair of headers and ypipe with cats to fit it. Any suggestions?

If you're looking for the best flow for a really high horsepower car Mufflex sells a huge 3" Y pipe for the Hooker LT's. Though if you don't need the massive 3" any other headers/Y pipe combo will fit with the Mufflex 4" since the I pipe is reduced to stock size right before the Y.
