Opinions on MagnaCharger?

What are your opinions on MagnaCharger? To be used on an LQ4 swap into a F-body.

depends on how much horsepower you want...under 500rwhp, go magnacharger, over 500rwhp, go turbo

Guys on other boards are seeing upto 550 rwhp with a cam and Magnacharger.

Later this year more vendors will be carrying the kit so look for some more competitive pricing in summer.

I'm considering a Magnacharger or turbo right now. Can't decide.

You mean one of those things will actually fit under the windshield cowl of a 4th generation F-body??? I've been curious about this idea for a long time!

I will be more than happy with ~500 rwhp. I need to find out what cam will work the best with a supercharger.

I believe it requires some shaving and modification, tight fit, but it will work.

Cool. I want to see pictures of it when you're done.

I'd love to eventually do the same thing with my car.

As posted above, there are already some good videos out there. As for me, if I go this route, I won't be done for a long while, I'm just gathering parts and information.

Thats sweet, although for all that modification I would just go with a Centrifugal blower (ie Procharger). Much nicer installs and kits are available with an intercooler as well.

Either one would still be badass!

A roots-style blower would be my last choice for a supercharger.

Centrifugal is the most efficient, but doesn't make power off the bat like a roots or screw.

I'd buy a twin-screw setup like the Kenne Bell before I'd buy a Maggie, but before that, I'd buy a centrifugal setup like the Procharger.

I figured that's about what it would look like.....there's definitely not much clearance there at all. Personally, if I were to do it, I think I'd fabricate some sort of a "hump" in the windshield cowl area to fit around the supercharger. I'm glad someone sees the merit of the swap and has done it though.
