Power and Gas mileage?

I just want to know if there are any proven gas mileage and HP improvers. I dont mind if the gas mileage stays the same but just dont want it worse. Any ideas? thanks.

Lid
Cold air
Catback

These will enhance HP without hurting fuel economy, could even help mpgs.

any freeing up of intake and exhaust restrictions should improve MPG...Don't worry about cats, they won't hinder flow that much...

Cold air would be SSRA, FTRA, FRA

The only headers that you can install that are truely emmisions legal are shortys and they have very minimal gains for the money.

There's this newfangled thing called ''search''. Try it you'll like it. Search on this site for the acronyms and read all about it.

Get it tuned. Leaning it out a bit helps HP and gas.

Seafoam it! Seafoam in the tank and down the throat. Plugs.... Keep up on your oil changes..

that should be it.. OH.. FWIW: An LS6 Intake swap actually hurt my gas mileage. Just cause it has to be re-tuned, and I'm @ 4300ft.

Here's some seafoam info if you're unfamiliar..

I've done it at 75K on my car and it worked wonders, had flames shooting out of the exhaust system. Felt like a tuneup in minutes, picked up some smoother accelleration and perhaps a few lost ponies... at 55K your car probably isn't at dire need of it yet but it definately won't hurt...

and for the record I've seafoamed ...

3.2L Cadillac CTS - 93K Miles - Car was stuttering when the A/C was on, Seafoam put an end to that...

3.8L Camaro's - 90K and 140K Regained that like-new accelleration...

4.6L Chevy Blazer - 120K- Had a stick gas pedal and Seafoam even solved THAT...

SSRA = Super Sucker Ram Air which attaches from the bottom of your lid to the front of your car, just under the nose and acts as a ram air system.

FRA = Free Ram Air mod - Involves cutting the bottom bezel out from your LID... In doing so however, your lid filter will become dirty much faster so be prepared.

well that works for me lol but just like you said i shouldnt need it so i wont do it just yet. But Fast Toys Ram Air seems to be a good choice for my car. it allready has the SLP Air Lid w/ K&N but no exhaust. I would like to do some but not soon yet. I also was wondering is there any Y pipes that go with stock Manifolds? then i can do cat back too would you think that would do a little something? I dont know if i want it to be crazy loud though. thanks for all your help.

Cat Back = 5 Ponies
Y Pipe = 1.5 - 2 Ponies
Longtube headers + Above combo = extra 15 - 20 Ponies...

Y-Pipe isn't worth it unless you're ganna change the headers at the same time, it's too much a hassle for such a small gain... Money used better towards getting your car to hook up, or atleast a stall converter...
