opinions- ls2 heads and hot cam?

So after finding the needle bearings in the oil pan, and 100 miles later I either think i have OCD or I really am starting to hear the lifters starting to tap. I was thinking of going with just a LS6 head and LS6 cam and replace the lifters, but began searching the site and see that the LS2's are fairly close to the LS6 heads, just less money and heavier valves. Then the Hot cam might give a "little" more power? I'm not looking for super power, My old LS6 Vette was enough fun for me, but would the hot cam be a little rowdier and still not affect the drivability? My car dynoed at 308 rwhp and i was told that with LS6 parts, it should be around 360rwhp. Is 380rwhp possible with LS2's and the hot cam?

I made 381 rwhp/373 rwtq with stock heads, Hotcam, and headers.

Not a bad idea for a very mild budget build that drives/idles basically like stock. There's nothing wrong with it, but there's tons of more power in other builds, especially if you can went heads/cam and not just cam-only.

Well, i talked to thunder racing today and went with the tr224 everyone seems to rave about. They told me not to waste money on LS2 heads...I think that a cam will be fine for now. At least i can get the lifter problem fixed.
