Okay,, Best headers for 2000 Trans Am
Want to try to keep it street legal, so would like to keep emissions passable. I have the SLP loudmouth catback exhaust.
What are the best headers for me, and what would I have to get/do to install them. Would like to get headers with a y pipe with cats that I can mount right to my exhaust with out any problems. Any suggestions?

2000 Black Trans Am, M6, SLP loudmouth exhaust, short shifter, HPP3 programming, suncoast Ram Air hood and kit, EGR mod, MAF ends. Getting SLP level 1 suspension, SBC, and AR XR Lemans RIMS, 17x11's rear 17X9" fronts!
So far only 1/4 mile time is 13.5 at a 106mph...terrible 60' times, need to improve.

If you want to stay street legal long tube headers out are, only shorties are 50 state legal. If you plan to lower your car I'd recommend FLP LT's if you go that route, SLP's will hang down too low & you'll scrape. JBA makes solid shorty headers but you wouldn't see much if any gain on your 2000 LS1.

I've heard that shorties aren't worth the gain on an LS1, somewhere just under 10 rwhp.
