Oil Problems!!!! Need Help Please!!

I have an oil problem with my LS1. I've been checkin it out regualry and have been using Mobil 1 synthetic. But it seems to somehow tobe goin through oil quick. I've looked all over my motor and under my car for leaks and nothin. Checked the tightness of the filter, and still nothing. So I'm stumped because the other day it was low and I had to put two quarts in.

PCV valve is probably stuck. Makes them suck oil like crazy. New one at the dealer is about $6.

Change to a different brand of oil. Mobil 1 seems to mysteriously dissapear more than other brands of synth. I even work with some Honda guys that say they're engine will go through Mobil 1 and not other synths. I know my engine was at least 1 qt low by 3k miles w/Mobil 1 and it never used oil when I ran Valvoline conventional oil.

Look for some German Castrol if you want synth.

Re: Oil Problems!!!! Need Help Please!!

I run Castrol Syntec over Mobil 1. Hopefully, it's just a stuck PCV valve. One way to check for that would be to remove the throttle body. If it's the PCV, the intake would be smothered in oil inside. If not, chances are your valve seals may be on the way out. I had a valve seal let go and got the low oil light less than 2K after the oil change. Good thing, otherwise I may not have found the broken inner valvespring when I did (aftermarket H/C car).

Try adding a sig do0d.. it helps us get you a better answer by knowing what year, trans and model you have.

I'll have to change my PCV valve come to think of it.. never did... 34k..
