Scanned it with my handheld scanner and got no codes whatsoever. Funny thing, I asked the guy at advance Auto parts if he could get me a oil sending unit and he says that the part I just put on the car is the sending unit/oil pressure switch. That sound right to you? I was under the impression that was just the oil pressure switch. Right? I could be wrong lol.

Ok, i'm confused here....The oil pressure sending unit is behind the intake manifold....is that what you replaced?

It looks like this.

Yup, thats the part. Like I said the guy that sold me it didn't say it was a sending unit. Guess it is. lol. Anyways gonna try to hook up a gauge if that helps. Really hoping it's not the damn oil pump.

Well if you replaced the sending unit and still have 0 pressure i would definitely hook up a mechanical gauge to see what you get. If it still reads 0 then the pump might be shot, another thing is you have a 98 which is known for oil pump failures.

A buddy told me they are a pain in the *** to replace. So I would probably have to send it out huh? How much would an average shop charge? BTW Thanks for the help man.

Yeah they were mostly in the lower milage range, but don't get way ahead of yourself. Try a mechanical gauge, if you have an inspection mirror try to look down the hole where the sending unit goes to see if you have something stuck in there, try to test the plug for the sending unit to make sure it's getting power, if you have pressure with a mechanical gauge then you'll know either the unit or plug is shot.

Is it common for that hole to be plugged? Or have you heard of it before? Never thought of the plug being bad tho. Good idea. Replaced it yesterday so I'll go remove it and check that out. To test the pressure I hook the gauge up that hole correct?

Yeah it comes with an adapter fitting that screws into the hole. I've never seen the hole get clogged before but you never know.

Any idea of how much money this gauge would be? Went to an Advance Auto Parts and an Auto Zone yesterday and they didn't sell 'em. Maybe my old Matco Tool guy? Guy is a little expensive though.
