oil fliter
Re: oil fliter
I just did a change and used the M1. Couldn't find the K&N. Man it sukked getting the old filter off. It is so small in diameter that none of my filter wrenches would work. And tight to the oil pan. I'll have same problem when I change this filter. K&N's have a nut on the end. For just that reason I would recommend them.

IMO, there are filters just as good as the K&N made by the same company for 1/4 of the price.

like with most things filtration, it is a trade-off between flow and filtration. imo, i think that the m1 and certainly a filter like the purolator pureone are too restrictive for my ls1 and i would never use them. if someone values filtration above all else, then the pureone, fram toughguard and the ac/delco upf series would be excellent choices. someone that only cares about flow might want to look elsewhere.
personally, i am looking for neither extremes... i am willing to give up a little filtration for better flow. someone else might be willing to give up a bit of flow for better filtration. what ppl that downloaded the chart should check out is the average large pore size vs the flow and make draw their own conclusions about which is right for them.
