off road pipe
off road pipe
just a quick question. I put a flowmaster american thunder cat back on this week end on my 98 z28. Just wanted to know from those who have an aftermarket cat back, how loud would an off road pipe be. Would it be too loud for everyday use or would it be not too loud but loud when you open it up.
thanks.
thanks.
Re: off road pipe
Well, I can't really answer this that well, but consider this: Look at ebay and see how many "slightly used" SLP loud-mouth exhaust kits are on there. I would probably assume that an offroad pipe would be annoying as heck, if not for you, but your neighbors. You'd probably sound about like pickups with all that aftermarket stuff.
Re: off road pipe
i run a tsp rumbler cb, no muffler, no cats and my talked to my neighbors and didnt care at all saying the other neighbors f250 w/ flowmaster was louder. i just have to watch how i hit the gas around cops.
Re: off road pipe
With a flowmaster cat-back, it won't be too loud unless your hearing aid is stuck on 10. Now, with a loudmouth or tsp rumbler, the line of "too loud" becomes a little more blurry because what you're asking depends on who you ask. Your setup with stock manifolds won't be quite as loud as someone who has longtubes. But, you can get a general idea here...
