Re: Octane

Ya asked what was the most ya could run?????

The more octane probably the slower it will run.
92 should be about right with a tune to take advantage of it.

Re: Octane

Highest you SHOULD run is 93. Anything more is wasted $ and excess emissions.

Re: Octane

Sun Ultra 94.

The car runs good on it. I run 94 in my bike and can feel a better
pull.

My Harley friends don't use Exxon becouse of the dye in the gas. It
gums up the injectors. So I don't use Exxon in the Camaro either...

Re: Octane

I think 116 is leaded and if you put it in your car it will mess up your O2's. I do know they make 100 in an unleaded version, but unless you are running high compression I would stick with 93.

Re: Octane

93, because I have not increased my engine's compression ratio or added a power adder. With no such reason to increase the risk of detonation, you would not need anything higher than 93 in a properly functioning engine. Higher octane is more $$$$, don't waste it on gas when you can spend it on mods later.
