north vs south

I went to a local national parts store today.I talk to 1 of there "parts"guys to get the hoses to by pass the hot water going into the tb.He said that I have a nourthern car,whitch I do,and I can go to my Chev dealer to get the right bracket to by pass the tb?! Has anyone heard of this?
