NGK Plugs

All you guys running NGK TR55 Plugs what are you runing for a gap? I realize the factory gap on the stock platinum plugs is .060. I pulled my 100K stock AC plugs with 33k on them to find them at .070-072. I also installed some MSD 8.5 wires, I set my NGK's at .055.

How would a tighter gap than recommended be beneficial? That was a big deal w/running aftermarket ignitions was to get a larger gap.

I am Running Bosch Plat +4 plugs with ThunderVolt wires and I left them at the factory .060 . I personally can’t understand why you would gap them less ? More I might could see.

I gap my NGK TR55IX's at .050. A larger gap makes a bigger bang but is far more prone to misfires if there are any problems in the electrical system.

Very good question. I was wondering the same as I wanted to do a tune up this weekend. I bought the TR55's and was debating between 55 and 50

well, if .060 is stock, would .070 be more bang? How come you guys are going with .050 then?

As TNTHUB said the more the gap the better the chance to get high RPM's misses. I also knew that with time progressing that the gap on them will grow. I didn't want to have to ghange my plugs again within the next 10,000 miles. With the addition of the 8.5 wires I should be getting plenty of fire(spark) to the cylinder. Most guys who run N2o will go with a shorter gap as well as the n2o has less of a chance to extinguish the spark that way. Just my opinion,
