Next mod

I have a 98 ss with the m6 and am looking for my next mod. I already have the loudmouth, ftra, pro-5 shifter, cags and am getting the texas speed and performance lid. What do you think my next mod should be. I was thinking ported mass air flow sensor ends or pulleys. Does anyone have any track results or hp gains with these. Any other mod suggestions would be great. I dont want to dip into the engine yet. Just some mods that will give me some nice gains for cheap, well not cheap, but decent price.

thanks

get a filter for the lid, you can port the mass air sensor but it wont make a difference till you get some serious mods in. You can always descreen and that will help a tiny bit. Next mods for you should be headers, gears, and a set of good tires. You may want to consider a predator programmer too.

I forgot to mention that I have a K&N filter too. I would like to get the predator but I dont think they make it for my year car. Do you guys have pulleys. How good are they. Any track gains. Ive heard mixed results from them. I am thinking about 4:10's because my rear is starting to whine. I know I can run alot better with some tires. One time slip I almost hit 108. This was before the ftra and the lid. How much will I gain form the ls6 intake. Thanks for the replies .

Get ASP underdrive crank pulley, GREAT MOD. With just the pulley, air lid and ported maf I dropped 4 tenths in my quarter and gained 4 mph. It's a nice mod, and you are right, the Predator is not made for 98s. By the way, the porting of my maf ends leaned my car out really bad, luckily I got it dynoed and fixed the problem with the predator, so I wouldn't suggest porting the maf unless you have something to fix your afr. So in other words, get the asp pulley. It will drop at least a tenth in the quarter and add at least 1mph.

Sweet . I assuming you didnt do the alternator pulley because your car is an a4 right? Ill have to search around for the best price on the pulleys. I think there on backorder now though. Any other mods you suggest. I am in need of some tires right now but Im not sure what kind. I want some cheap ones. I got through them pretty quick. I have kuhmo's right now. I can get them for around 475 shipped to the door.

Yeah, that's why I didn't get the alternator pulley. Try www.ls1speed.com for the pulleys, they had them in stock a few months ago. You also won't want the pulleys if you have or are getting an aftermarket system. As for tires, I ordered some Eagle F1's, the ones that come stock on the SS, from a place called Lesschwab tires. I believe the address is www.lesschwab.com, the tires were really cheap, only $89 for each one, they are normally over $200.
