Newbie here, any advise

I am picking up a 99 z28 from the stealership next week and was wondering if there is anything I should know or any advise you can give me about this car? its a 1999 Silver z28 with t tops and ground effects package. Car has 43000 miles on it and a borla exhaust. Other than that I think it's stock, didn't see anything aftermarket under the hood. I am going to put a cold air intake on it first but what else bolt on really wakes this motor up? THanks for the help guys!

how much you wanna spend. I would say get an airlid. A good place to go is www.thunderracing.com . An airlid will complement that exhaust. If you got about 400 bucks, i would buy an ls6 intake, that will also wake that car up a little. An airlid takes about 20 minutes to put on. Easiest mod on these cars.

Well if the car is a M6 I would suggest !CAGS.. first time it tells you that you have to shift into 4th when you want 2nd should **** you off enough to spend that 30 bucks. I would suggest checking into www.installuniversity.com and look for all the free mods. None of them are going to give you a huge power boost, but for free they are worth doing. Other than that I think a lid should be your first thing. LS1's react very well to better breathing, and if you already have a Borla on the back you can start working on the front and work your way back.

Congrats on the car! Let the addiction begin.. hehe

If your gonna put on an Intake definetly skip the lid and go with the K&N FIPK. They may be a little pricier but these things are beasts. I have no regret purchasing mine. How many bolt on mods are there where you actually feel the difference. You can buy one at a local auto parts store. Then my advice is go with gears.

Guys, Thanks for all the advise and the links, your awesome!! Just heard from the stealership and I may be able to pick up the car tonight, it won't be registered or insured yet but I 'll take the GN out of the trailer and put the Camaro in for now. I have already asked a buddy of mine to make a cold air intake pipe that'll go from the throttle body down inside the fender I believe, I'll send a pic when I see what he actually does to it. Besides that, I am going to do minor things for now, my goal is to get it into the high to mid 12's as it is my wifes car technically! I have my dually as a daily driver and my GN for pissing on the imports at the track!! Thanks alot guys!!!

Sub-frame connectors make a huge difference for these cars. They will help keep everything tight and prevent flexing. I would get a set of those asap if your car doesn't already have them. Good luck, and congrats on the new ride!
