new toys coming soon, need suggestions!
Also about the BBK intake, more flow isn't necessarilly better. You have to think velocity also. Ported heads are the same way. I wouldn't do anything over an LS6 intake until I had ported heads and (for me) a larger cam.
Just do the basic traction oriented suspension tweaks first. Are you shocks old? Are you running budget tires? Tubular LCA's, SFC's, LCA relo brackets and poly trans and TA bushings to start with.
I found all my used stuff in the local sections of various boards like ls1tech and ls2.com. There may also be a completely local board you can look in. If you aren't like me and don't mind trusting people to ship after you pay them then look in the "for sale" sections of the various boards. Boards are where I've seen the LS6 cams go cheap.
I picked my LS6 intake up for $275 locally. I've gotten better deals on other things though. $80 for a cam and $60 for hardened pushrods neither had been ran. Because the cam has over .590 lift I sprung for some patriot god springs, but you won't need that with an LS6.
FYI, you can get new LS6/LS2 springs cheap from Scoggin-Dickey (sdparts.com). While you're in there change the timing chain out for an LS2 chain ($35 and more beefey)
Oh and there are 2 different LS6 grinds. IIRC 02 is when the more agressive grind started.

Ok.. thanks to your suggestions, I have decided to get the LT's with ORY (yay Minnesota!), Computer reprogram, LS6 Intake, and if I can find it, a LS6 Cam. Im guessing I need pushrods and springs.. Do I need lifters and rockers with that as well, or am I good with the stock ones?
What really is the difference between the LS1 and the LS6? just slightly bored jugs?

you'll need new pushrods and springs. you can get the ls6 springs that will work fine, but if you plan to upgrade the cam later, you may as well put good springs on now. if nothing else some cc918 springs.
lifters and rockers are totally fine. besides, for the lifters you have to pull th heads!
not much difference between the ls1 and ls6 block. something with cylinder to cylinder breathing...but nothing major....same displacement. now the engine as a whole, the ls6 came with a bigger cam, better flowing heads, and the intake. basically that's it.
