Smile New Toys

I know this isn't the LS section but it's pretty dead in there. Once the prices for the new Camaro were released i wasn't interested anymore, the one i wanted was close to 40k. I decided that i was either going to get a C6 or build up my current Camaro, the whole thought process took an agonizing 20 minutes, so i went with the Camaro decision and then i started spending away. My first purchase is..............................

Heads and Cam

Don't they look so purrty?

I didn't want too big of a cam, this will be just fine for the street.

I started working on it yesterday, and yes that's a vaccum cleaner extension holding up my hood, fiberglass hood + stock hood lifts =

Waterpump and other misc crap removed.

Today i'm pulling the radiator, intake, fuel system if it doesn't rain. I'll post this in the LS section but i doubt it's going to get any replies.

Neither your sig or FQuick list an aftermarket torque converter. Hopefully you budgeted a converter in, because you will not like that cam's behavior on a stocker.

Does TSP/PRC mill the head castings numbers off now?

I don't have one yet, do you have any recommendations? I'm always open for opinions, this project is going to take a while anyway because i'll be doing other things to the car so i'm not freaking out about other things i need just yet

Yank or Precision Industries. A Yank PT4000 will work fantastically with the heads, cam, intake, and 3.73 gears. A PI Vigilante 3600 would also work well. That may sound a bit extreme, but you'll most likely be disappointed shortly after a milder converter install and wish you went bigger. Don't let the high stall speed deter you - their street manners really aren't that bad. Finally, whatever you do, stay away from the cheap junk like Fuddle, TCI, and several other budget converters. They're horrible!

Yank has a special going on this month - really good deals. May want to check it out!

Sounds like the same build I went with, only mine is the V2. Have fun with it all and post up your results and some videos!
