Angry New Sportlines=Nice! Camber=Not so nice!

Just installed my new Eibach Sportlines and what a difference they made! No more of that loose bouncey feel during shifts just get up and go! One problem though. My camber is waaay off and the front wheels stick out at a slight angle. I tightened all the lug nuts with the impact wrench so I know they're on all the way. I was thinking that my problem could be fixed by slipping a couple of washers between the the castle nut and the ball joint. What must I do!? Thanks in advance!

Take it to an alignment shop and pay the 45-65 bucks to get it aligned. It's a must if you lower your car.

Don't do that!!!

I hope you didn't warp your rotors using it. If you have to use an impact wrench please make sure you use a torque stick [that's the name I know them by, looks like an extension but will only let a certain amount of torque].

The best way to check to make sure they are on with the correct force is with a torque wrench in increments. Yes, time consuming, but your rotors will thank you!

regardless, if you lower the front suspension, i'm told it's a must to go get it re-aligned.

before i put my eibachs on my last 99 camaro, i called around, and even mechanics that refused to do the install still told me i would need an alignment (point being they weren't just trying to squeeze more $$ out of me).

In addition to the alignment, you're also gonna need to look into getting some LCA relocation brackets. You think you lost some bounce now, wait till you relocate the LCAs in back, that'll help out a ton

I just ordered some LCAs w/brackets, adjustable panhard rod, SFCs, TA, rear sway and stb. So I'm going to do the alignment all at once and deal with the camber for now.
I currently am not using a front sway bar though I am looking for a decent one for the turns. Keep in mind that the rear sway bar is for drag racing and is oversized.

Do you have any pics of your car with the sportlines? Thats the 1.8 drop in the front and 1.7 in the rear right? I just ordered the sportlines a couple days ago, but started worrying that the drop was too much. Any rubbing problems or anything? And did you do the work yourself od did you take it somewhere? Thanx...

I have the stock sport appearance package and have to back out and pull into a steep driveway with a curb everyday. The only thing that ever gets caught up is the end of my cutout, slightly. Its just a matter of being careful. My friend also has the sportlines with a West Wings kit and no problems on his SS. I personally love the sportline kit as it lowers the car just enough to remove all wheel gap without going too far. The installation is very simple and I've done 2 sportline installs already. I just happen to need an alignment while the SS didn't. It is a good idea to buy coil spring compressors and a pickle fork for getting that ball joint to pop when doing the install. Email me if you need anything else.

And I'll get some new pics today if it's nice out since I'll be running nitrous lines and installing my tach.

You need to deal with the alignment now . None of that other stuff is going to change the alignment, get it over with before you wear your tires funny and have to put new tires on it too.

Oh yeah. I wish alignment was as simple as bolting on more parts. My point was to wait a few days and get the alignment done after I get all the new stuff. Damn alignments!

Bunch of pics of my car with sportlines in the sig. Took the car to a shop to get aligned and everything worked out great. Everything got aligned properly. Nothing rubs with it this low as in the tires, just be careful when going over speed bumps or into steep inclines. Just take them at an angle. Only thing i added with the springs was an adj. panhard rod.

You will need an adjustable Panhard bar too. By lowering the rear, you have displaced the rear axle to the side. An adjustable Panhard will allow you to shorten the Panhard by a small amount and get the axle centered again.

Yes, you will require an alignment, but without the adjustable Panhard it will be impossible to adjust correctly.
