M6 - sticky tires and some fancy driving should get you into the 12's.

A4 - stall converter and sticky tires.

Notice the time in my sig ... even with 4.10's, I still need a stall.

Re: new here

unless it's an auto, and you use the programmer for shift changes...it's probably better to sell it and get other mods.

but a lid, good catback and some good tires and practice at the strip should get you into the 12s.

mid 12s will need some headers, gears and suspension mods.

What sort of fancy driving? Like really banging on the car, or can you do it by shifting 'safely'.. such as get off the gas, clutch, shift, gas. Or do you have to keep your foot on the gas to achieve 12's

I really don't know! That's why I said you'd need some fancy driving! If I knew how to do that fancy driving, I would have been more specific!!

Besides, my car's an A4 ..... what the hell would I know about driving a stick?

Funny though, I was the guy who ran my Dad's 4-speed '73 into the 12's on my 3rd run EVER in the car (I mean at the track with ET Streets on it ... I drove it lots on the street), while the best he got was a 13.2!

Yeah....wish I woulda bought your car Rob. Didn't know it was still around when I bought mine a year ago.

I hit 12.99 with SSRA, Lid, DR's, ORYP, Catback, and my own tune w/ EFILive. Got a stall now and headers on the way. Looking for .50's.

Maybe deep 12s.

I'm .4 away with all the mods in my sig. less the SFCs. I think for A4s, drag radials, headers, and knowing what you're doing will get you there. All cars can be different though.

I ran a best of 12.96 with the same mods as you then added a Yank ST3500 and ran a best of 12.15.
I would think that with a good converter, headers, and good weather that you could hit high 11s. A lot depends on the torque converter.

So if that's the case, maybe I'll just skip running 12's altogether. Just go from 13's to 11's! I'm planning on a stall and headers next year, that's why I say this.

I'm pretty sure I can get there with tires.

Re: new here

I'd run the car the car as is first. Get some seat time with the car, get a baseline for your ET and MPH the mod from there.

The mods are in my sig. I've only been able to muster a 12.84 but that's on street tires. I'm damn near trapping at 110 which is good for at least a 12.50 with some damn traction.
