New car owners LSI- mileage when you start racing/ dragging
The reason I am asking is that I now have about 1450 on mine and I could swear that the piston slap that seems to be not a big deal is getting worse. So I am wondering if I started too soon @800miles or so.
Do you too experience the knocking that is associated with piston slap? If so, has it remained at a constant? I thought by reading here that it may have also been detonation so I reprogramed the high performance tuning (hpp+) back to stock but it made no difference. When did you start adding bolt-ons?

Yes and yes

What bolt ons? If you look real carefully at the sig you'll notice that the motor is stock. No aftermarket MAF, no ported TB, no Ls6 intake, no headers, no cam or heads.

Sorry, I interpreted the lid to be a bolt-on. Anywho, I started with my lid, filter and MAF at 1000 ( I know not bolt-ons ). The catt back came at 1300. I will be adding SSRA today 6/8, and the damn bellow when it comes in. I was wondering if new piston heads could/would take care of the slapping?

My point was that the MOTOR is STOCK.
Stock MAF with screen
Stock throttlebody
Stock LS1 intake
Stock cast iron manifolds
And everything in between.
I never claimed that the car was stock.
Everyone that posts good numbers with a BOLT-ON car lists:
Ported or aftermarket MAF
Ported or aftermarket throttlebody
LS6 intake
Headers of some sort
25% underdrive pulleys
Pitting my car against a bolt on car would hardly be fair. Would it? So I try to differentiate. So maybe I should call it a bolt on car with a stock motor? No that's what the guys with motor bolt-ons call theirs.
You tell ME what I should call it.
