New Camaro owner a few questions

HI, im new to this site and camaros in general. I have always had mustangs so be patient with me. I just got a 98 z28 a4 a few months ago, Ive been hearing some wierd noises from it recently. before i brought it to a chevy dealer i thought id ask around first to see if any other z28 owners had the same problems. The main noise that is bothering me is a humming comming from the front left side of the car it starts after 35mph and continues the faster i go,it sounds like its something that is spining. also my oil gauge goes up when i floor it, is a real guage supposed to do that or is there a problem. Okay sorry for a few stupid questions.thank you

The oil pressure going up when you floor it is normal.

The noise you hear from the left side of the car maybe a squeeking belt, easy to change. I got the same camaro as yours. For quick performance enhancement ad a performance lid. And no question is stupid.

yeah the easiest thing to check would be a belt. does it do it if you just rev it up? or only when driving?

could also be the tension pulley...they are well known to go bad.

Sounds like it might be a wheel bearing. A humming noise could be anything though. Its really something youd have to hear becasue its not good to make assumptions.
I have owned 3 4th gens and never had a huming come from the front of any of my cars nor have I heard it being a problem with any that my friends own so I wouldnt bet its a common problem.
Good luck finding it...welcome to the site!!

I would try the belt first. Just make sure to get a gm belt or else the aftermarket belt will still squeek. Its happened to me. Good luck.
