need something cleared up

ok.. last night my girlfriend and i got into a sort of argument... it was about of all things.... camaros being better than firebirds.... now.. she says that firebirds are a bad car all around compared to a camaro.. i told her.. that they're the same friggin thing..... she wouldn't listen.... so.. i need some things to tell for proof that they're the same.. any ideas.. or is there no winning?

Yeah, just give in.

But really they are the same except for looks. I have had several people tell me I should have gotten a Trans Am because they are faster.

Women don't give a damn. I've learned that. I've met numerous women that think Mustangs are faster then f-bodies, Trans Am's are better then Camaro's, vice versa, whatever.

True, basically the only difference between a Camaro and Firebird/Trans Am is in the external and internal appearance, the chassis, drivetrain, etc is exactly identical.

But yeah, just let her win and go get laid. It'll be easier then convincing her otherwise.

Funny thing is, Pontiacs have traditionally been the "higher class" vehicles than Chevrolets over the years! (well, AFAIK? ). That's why T/A's come with more standard features than Camaros.

Depends on how hot she is....

I agree that they are the same thing, but my dad is a hold over from the old days...he says that all the GM assembly line workers start at chevy, and then the "elite" workers move on to GMC, Pontiac, etc. For that reason he only buys GMC trucks and Pontiac/Buick cars. I don't buy it for a minute, just telling you his logic!

If both cars are stock the SS is better. But even then if she is claiming she will run circles around you then she is dumb. If she is really hot I would just be nice and everything, get what you want. Then after you have had enough fun and if you have moded your car race her. X 2

I hate to beat up on "old guys", but Dad is mistaken.

FWIW, Camaros and 'Birds were built on the same line by the same people. Obviously they share many/most of their parts.

Chevy/GMC trucks share the same production line and the same people.

Buy a brand because you like the style or features, or you get a better deal. This is especially true in GMC/Chevy trucks. In some cases, your local GMC truck dealer might have a better, or at least different service department if they sell lots of large trucks.
