Because he doesn't want to do internal mods.

Once the car feels slow from bolt-ons after a month or so, he'll need a new fix

Fair enough, but since he's new around here, I just wanted to make it clear that he can get into the 12's easily without nitrous.

I ran mid 12s all the time with a best of 12.15 when in this mode.
Just a couple of other little things: Headers. Not necessary for 12s, but a very worthwhile starter mod. And if you have the 2.73 gears stock, look into a gear swap to a 3.42 or even 3.73. If you have 3.23 gears, they'll work fine for your goals.

And since Al is suggesting a "FRA", and you don't know what that means, its the Free Ram Air mod.

Al's running 4.10s, but he has a race car.

I'd suggest 3.73s with the auto for the street if you do any kind of interstate driving.

Yeah 4.10s now with a Yank PT4000ish.

Back then I was running 3.23s 'till the posi went south then I stuck in a 3.42 rear from a stick car.

Give me your email and i'll send you pics of my car, you can't knock it till you see it, it's a specail edition corvette pre Z06 only a few made, please don't knock my car it hurts me feelings

anyway, how do I tell what gears my Z has? It runs about 2500RPM at 65 70, so i'd say 323's maybe?
anyway I think i'll get the zex nitrous kit and put it on for 600 bucks and have 100hp, hopefully I'll have it on by this weekend and go race that blown cobra

BTW.. those are all 2004 cars. Even a 2000 with that mileage will go for $5-10k less easily.

Heads/cam setup from the factory? Utter bull****. You took that hook, line, and sinker.

Anyway, let's not get into that

Bolt-ons + nitrous is your best bet.
Why is my head/ cam setup bull? Man, you might think i'm carrying this on, but you don't know what car your talking about, you think someone could tell me it was a "special" edition with head/cam and I couldn't tell by the sound/power if it was? Cmon, my 14 year old could tell between a 335 hp car and my car! Seriously this car appraised for 75k dollars. Its a Lingenfelter custom car that I bought hit in the front fender and fixed the fender, so those cars you showed me at the auction don't compare to mine, had to defend myself on that one, no disrespect at all, but I do know my cars!

I described how to tell a few posts back:

However, 3.23 gears at 2500 rpm in 4th gear of an automatic transmission should have you going 84 mph. This could mean any number of things:

1. You are mistaken about your RPMs at that speed
2. Your tach is not accurate (very likely)
3. Your speedometer is not accurate (not very likely)
4. The previous owner installed an aftermarket gearset.

2500rpm with 4.10:1 gears would be 66mph. It seems pretty likely that option 4 is the case.

Your story changes a little each time. Because of that, it seems like you're making it up. That's why you're getting called out. Why didn't you just say it was a Lingenfelter Corvette in the first place?

If it was a Lingenfelter car, why didn't you just say that it was from the start?

A "pre-Z06" is called an FRC (fixed roof coupe or factory race car) and they made them from 99-00 while developing the Z06. The came with the regular LS1. You may know a little about the car business (I know alot, too ), but I'm an expert when it comes to C5 Corvettes. Check my sig.

Awesome!! Now I can ask you all my questions!!! Haha , well I know my car was appraised at 75k, and I really don't care if that one guy thinks i'm lying!! I've been in the car business for a long time, but it's nice to find someone as knowledgable about these cars as you...I'll send you some pics of my baby as soon as I can! The car was originally hit in the fender and I bought it at a Auction in Indianapolis, and I own a little body shop, so I fixed it for next to nothin, now I got a badass vette, that most people don't know what it even is!! Thats why I usually don't even say, because most people just say like you did , "thats BS, no corvette comes with all that stock" It's not worth the arguement for me,
oh I also have a 69 REAL Z28 original 302 4 speed for sale on ebay right now, just to show you I deal in NICE SH**

nothing changed? Everything you just quoted me on is true! It is an M6 6 speed, it does have 7500 miles, I really could care less weather or not you believe me, as you remember I came asking about my DD, my CAMARO! The reason I didn't say what it is, is because people like you always wanna argue and I don't feel like arguing about it, why should I get ridicule , because I have an extremely rare car, like I told the other guy in the last post , I have a 69Z28 302 4 speed on ebay right now it's about to end but check it out, thats the kind of cars I deal with, but i don't expect anyone to know me here so thats why I don't bring it up, cuz most people don't have the cars I do, or the money to buy them
