Need more power

Hey i have a 2002 SS 6 speed and want more power, but dont really have the money to do a supercharger or heads/cam package right now. My car has all SLP factory options, SLP y-pipe, SLP MAF, whisper lid, K&N filter, underdrive pulley, TB bypass kit, smooth bellows, MSD plug wires...I ordered Pacesetter LTs, ORY, and GMMG catback (should all be here within a week). It has 327 rwhp and 343 rwtq now, plus whatever the LTs and exhaust will add...my question is what else can i do to gain hp/tq without SC or H/C? I will eventually do these both, but am looking for other performance mods first. also, what would u estimate in power/torque gains from the LTs and exhaust?? thanks

You can do a cam without doing heads. So between ~$500 - 800 or so (depending on where you buy the cam, and if you did springs, retainers, etc.) you can put yourself pretty close to the ~400 RWHP mark, and NOT have to un-bolt the heads .

You can do all the "free mods" in the world, but they're really not going to benefit you like headers, cam, etc., are going to benefit.

Another thing ..... get a TUNE . Apparently there is much to be found by ditching the factory program and getting a tune (esp. considering you're bolting on a set of LT's).

Don't waste your money on stupid things like "Grenatelli MAFS" or something though .

Oh, a cut-out!! I realize you'll have a pretty free-flowing exhaust with the GMMG and all, but if you want a measurable power increase, wide-open exhaust DOES show an improvement (we saw 18 RWHP from my Dad's '73 by opening up the dumps on it).

lt's and gmmg should add around 18-20rwhp and you should go with a cam and tune next (thats next on my list too). the xr265hr comp cam, springs and rockers would be good for a daily driver and should put you very close to 400rwhp.
