Need LS1 info

As i posted earlier i was given a 2002 T/A for my 19th b-day. Granted it has no tranny rearend or motor, but that's besides the point. Anyway, i worked a deal out w/ my dad to use his credait card to get it running then ill pay him back. So far i've got the basics, a thunder racing 12-bolt, and a T-56. As far as i know the rearend has 4.10's (at least thats what i ordered). Anyway, my question is, should i buy a bare LS1 block and build it up or buy a crate motor. And any sites with info would be appreciated.

Thanx in advance
Darryl

If you want to buy a block and then go from there, I'd definitely look into getting a 6.0 liter block. If you ever want to go with big cubes (409, 422, etc), you might as well buy it now...and I believe it's about half the price as the LS1 block, about $650-700.

If you want a crate motor, then I'd probably just go with the LS1. Of course, if you don't mind spending another $1500-2000, go with the LS6.
