I gutted my cat when I did my header install and I can honestly say the car sounds completely different. Not too bad down around 2k and under... But at WOT it sounds like a mean SOB! Now I do have a slight resonance sound but I am not bothered by it.

GOod luck

Whoops, I just noticed I am in LS1... Sorry about that. Anyways, I really dont know what your car is going to sound like. But I am sure the results will probably be the same

Good luck

I work at a tire automotive shop and a guy came in with a 2000 Trans am with gutted cats and a stock exhausted. It sounded so mean and was pretty loud. I would do it then if you don't like it just buy some high flow cats and a y-pipe.
