Need help on a replacement key

I have a locksmith that can get replacement keys for my 99 Z28 for like $15. He needs to know the VALUE NUMBER of the key. I was told it would be a number between 1 and 15. How do I find this? Please reply or email me, I really need to get another key as the dealer only gave me one when I bought the car.
You can email me at v10power@comcast.net

Call the dealer and give them your vin # (you might have to take the car there) they should be able to tell you, just get the # and tell them you will come in later with the money to get it (you know a white lie??)

If you still have the 'punch outs' from your keys (the metal block that is punched out for where you attach the key to a key ring), you can look at those because you resistance code is stamped into the punch out... (1-15, like you said)
