Need Help with ls6 intake and no egr on 98 ls1. I have a 98 ls1 and the intake i have is off of a 2001 ss and it has no egr. soo what all do i have to do to take the egr off my car or can i just leave it there? will iu be able to pass emmisons on my car still??????? thanks

Ok...DO NOT buy that egr crap from Liginfelter. I bought it and sent it back. I just Changed my maninfold on my 98 camaro. LPE wants you to drill a hole in the new manifold and insert there "thing" and plug in the egr. Which you pay 100 bucks for something that looks and feels like it should be about 5 bucks. Anyway everyone I know that has taken there egr off has passed inspection. There are 2 was to not make it throw a code....get ls1 edit. or do what I did. Take all the EGR crap off your car. But leave the EGR solinoid on, and leave it pluged in. Its a round metal looking thing about the size of coke can, but one 3 or 4 inches tall. It has a black cap at the top where the plug for the egr plugs in. If you simply put that aside still pluged in, And block off were the EGR meets the headers (making a little metal plate and a gasket will do it...pretty easy to do)your car will run fine and not throw a code.
