need help IDing this

Hello everyone,

I just purchased an 00 Trans Am and was noticing a hose that looks like it was cut and someone put a filter at the end. I was just wondering if that's the case, or is this normal? This is my first LS1.. traded in the 95 Z28 a year ago with over 300k miles on it. Thanks in advance!

Anthony

That hose is the intake hose for the airpump located below the fuse boxes. I guessing that your car has an after market airlid that does not have a hole drilled on the side of it for the hose to attatch to like the factory airlid does . It's perfectly fine the way it is , but most people remove the whole air system completely and have it deleted from the computer as well so they don't see the Check Engine light .
