Just trying to get the d!mn oil filler neck off. 00 LS1.

i thought it was just a screw off...is there a tab on the inside?

Yes it has at least one tab on the neck itself, doesn't screw off. Don't know if you can force it without breaking the tab or release it with a tool from the outside? Safest way would be to remove the valve cover and release it from the inside.

But do you have to lift the tab or push it down to remove the filler neck? I tried both ways with the cover off and couldn't get the thing off. Granted, I didn't try too hard because I didn't want to break anything either.
