need help buying new T/A

Im helping my mom in looking for a new car, and i suggested the Trans Am because she is getting into her 40's and needs some excitement in her life. Anyways we go to the dealership and test drives a pewter A4 with all the options and 3.23 gears. she really likes it, but when we go in to talk, they arent budging on the sticker. and they where gonna give about 2500 below the blue book trade in for her pathfinder. im going to go back up there and try and haggle with them. what should i ask for? how should i go about it? if they can give the actual blue book trade in for her car, and come off 1.5 to 2k on the sticker i think she would take it. that would put payments around 400 for the 60 month 0% APR. any suggestions or comments? thanks for your help.

Suprised you found a dealer that still that had a new T/A for sale. I'd be more suprised if you found one willing to let it go for anything less than MSRP.

Of course they are trying to short you on the trade in. I think it's like a law or something.

Does it have to be new? I got my 2001 Z28 Loaded every option out there, T-Tops Sport Appearance Package with 8000 miles on it for about 17K used. The guy wanted about 20K for it but you just gotta know how to talk. I found the original sticker in the car guy paid over 28K from the dealer. You can get a great deal on a used one like I did. Also if she doesnt care Camaro or TA, Camaros do tend to be a little cheaper.

thanks for all of yalls help. i already tried the used car route, but she is driving a 2000 pathfinder and she said if she wanted a used car she would keep her current car. but heres the good news. since its the end of the month the dealership apparently hasnt met their quota, and is now willing to negotiate. right now ive got them to a 14k trade in and get this, they are gonna sell a 2002 T/A with all options except WS6 for 27,500. my mom still owes around 10k on the pathfinder, so after they pay that off that leaves a grand total of 23,500. with 60 month 0% the payments come in at 395 a month. im pretty pleased with this deal and so is my mother, but i told them id think about it and call back on friday. if anyones wondering its pewter with the dark leather. should i drive up to the dealership and buy it now, or wait for a better offer??

Not terribly bad, especially since there aren't many new ones for sale. don't forget Tax, Title and licensing though. Here tax alone on 24K would be almost $2000.00.

I bought mine in August. it stickered for $29,154. It doesn't have Traction control or the CD Changer. (only other options for T/A are Hurst shifter and Chrome wheels) I got it for $500.00 over invoice and then 3K cash back. it came to just over 26K after TT&L.

At a local Dealer, they have 2 2002 Camaros left.. 1. is a Z28 A4 Convertible everything except Traction Control for 32,800. And a RS V6 Auto for 26,000..

That same dealer was trying to sell me a 99 Black Convertible A4, w/ everything including Traction Control, AM/FM Cassette and 12 Disc Changer w/ 37,900 miles for $ 21,500..

I waited 2 weeks and picked up my 2002 Camaro Z28 A4 fully loaded except Traction Control and 12 Disc Changer, with only 9,940 miles for $ 21,200..

I still dont think anyone out there has gotten a better deal than my 17K on a 2001 Z28 T-Top w/8000 miles and fully loaded, leather, cd, 6 way power seats, every option under the sun except the SS. Thats 17K including the purchase of a Ram Air hood.

That's pretty much the same deal I got on my T/A except mine is the WS6. I took it cause I wanted the car If there are other dealers around with new TAs take the deal to them and ask if they'll beat it if not go ahead and get it. If you look on Ebay ther is/was a dealer in Houston who's selling TAs
Here's a Hawk in CT

and a WS6 in CO
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1873155465
So they are still out there just getting a little harder to find tho
